Dr. Simon Obeid is a professor in the College of Engineering & Information Sciences at DeVry University. Previously, he served as an Associate Dean of the College of Engineering & Information in Columbus, Ohio. He holds MSc and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He earned graduate certificate in Information Security from Keller Graduate School of Management. He has worked in the industry as a test engineer for Albany Instruments Incorporated. He has published and presented numerous scholarly articles. His areas of interest are Non-destructive testing, GMR magnetic sensors and STEM education. He has over 18 years of teaching experience in the areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNC-Charlotte, Johnson C. Smith University, University of Phoenix, ITT Technical Institute and DeVry University. He is an ETAC- ABET Program Evaluator. His teaching philosophy is to create intellectually appropriate activities, an exciting environment in the classroom to stimulate student creativity, and to engage students to help them reach their academic and career goals.
