This student panel presents findings from original research examining how students and faculty use AI tools in higher education. Student panelists will share key insights, and recommendations for campus leaders seeking to develop evidence-based practices around AI integration. Attendees will learn how centering student perspectives in AI integration can drive more effective, digital learning strategies. The research and findings demonstrate a model for including students as research partners while generating actionable data to inform campus-wide decision-making on emerging technologies.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand student perspectives on AI usage: Gain insights from student-conducted research on how peers and faculty actually use AI tools for learning and teaching, including benefits, challenges, and student success considerations
  • Learn strategies for student-partnered research: Discover practical approaches for involving students as co-researchers in institutional data collection efforts to ensure authenticity and relevance of findings to inform technology adoption and pedagogical strategies on your own campus
  • Identify student-informed policy recommendations: Explore evidence-based strategies for developing institutional AI policies and support structures that align with actual student needs and usage patterns
