This session will explore the current and increasing threat of ransomware and data breach threats to higher education and identify offensive tactics that professionals can perform to better prepare for those threats, minimizing the impact on academic functions and students served. The presentation will highlight frameworks (COBIT, CRISC, and SFIA) that professionals can use to establish effective governance structures within higher education to facilitate the evaluation, direction, and monitoring needed to address cyber threats and other comprehensive technology risks. Attendees will be exposed to strategies, templates, rubrics, methods, and lessons learned from experience in hopes to better prepare them in their fight against cyber threats.
