General Conference Information

What is Tech Tactics in Education?

Tech Tactics in Education is the new flagship in-person event from the producers of Campus Technology and THE Journal. The three-day event provides sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities for IT and security professionals from institutions across K-12 and higher education. This year’s theme is “Data and IT Security in the New Now.”

Who is Tech Tactics in Education for?

Tech Tactics in Education is intended for IT and data security professionals in education. Separate tracks focus on higher education and K–12, targeting the specific needs of professionals at all institution types.

Tech Tactics in Education takes place November 7-9, 2023.

What should I wear for Tech Tactics in Education?

There is no particular dress code for Tech Tactics in Education; however, general business casual attire is acceptable. Orlando enjoys warm weather in November with daytime temperatures that typically average 77 degrees Fahrenheit and evenings that average in the high 60s. The temperature in the session rooms may vary, so be sure to bring a sweater or light jacket. We recommend wearing layers.

What meals are included with registration?

For all paid Tech Tactics in Education attendees, lunch is provided on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Will I be able to request special meals (i.e. kosher, vegetarian, gluten free)?

Yes, you will be prompted for special meal requirements during the registration process. All special meal requests must be submitted at least 7 days prior to the conference start date.

How can I request assistance with special needs (i.e. hearing impaired)?

You will be prompted to tell us about your special needs during registration and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.

Can I bring a guest or companion to conference sessions and meals?

Only paid attendees are allowed in conference sessions and meals. Thank you for your understanding.

Airport

The Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld is ~14 miles from the Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Transportation

At Orlando International Airport, taxi service is available on level 1, which is the ground transportation level of terminal A and B. For Uber and Lyft look for the “Ride App Pickup” signs on level 2 which is baggage claim in Terminal A and B.

Parking at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld

On-site parking at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld is available for $33/day. Valet parking is available for $48/day. Electric vehicle charging stations available.

Will there be opportunities for small group discussions?

There will be networking and brainstorming opportunities scheduled throughout the event to allow you to learn and share in smaller group settings. We also encourage attendees to network during meals and breaks.

Registration

Do you accept Purchase Orders?

If you would like to use a Purchase Order you may do so when registering online. If you have any questions about using a purchase order, please contact our registration department at [email protected] or 714.439.9484. All payment must be received on or before October 17, 2023 or the registration will be canceled.

Where may I obtain your federal tax ID information for my accounting department?

Please contact our Conference Registrar at [email protected] and they will fax or mail a completed W9 form to you. Tech Tactics in Education's Federal Tax I.D. Number is 20-4583700.

Where can I request a receipt?

You received a link to your receipt in your confirmation email. You may access your registration at any time with the email address you registered with and your reference number, found in your confirmation email. Click here to log back into your registration.

You can also request a receipt through our Conference Registrar Olivia Urizar at [email protected] or by calling 714.439.9484. Receipts are processed weekly.

How may I make changes to my registration?

You may request changes to your registration by writing [email protected] or by calling 714.439.9484.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

All requests for cancellation must be sent in writing to the registration office at [email protected]. Requests must be received by the cancellation deadline of October 20, 2023 to qualify for a refund. A cancellation-processing fee of $50 will be charged for each cancellation request. No refunds will be given after October 20, 2023.

If I cancel my conference registration will my hotel room cancelled as well?

No, these are handled separately. Please contact your hotel directly to cancel your room reservation.

May I send someone in my place if I cannot attend?

Yes, you may transfer your registration to another person at any time prior to the start of the conference, November 7, 2023. Requests must be made in writing and may be emailed to [email protected], by calling 714.439.9484, or bring the request with you onsite.

Will I receive confirmation of my registration?

Yes, if you include your email address during the registration process, you will receive an email acknowledgement of your registration being received in the conference database.

 

COVID Health and Safety Protocols

Will I need to provide proof of vaccination or test results and wear a mask to attend?

The staff of Tech Tactics in Education is paying close attention to state and federal public health guidelines, and monitoring local caseloads. If we need to implement any Covid onsite protocols (such as wearing a mask), we’ll notify you as soon as possible.

Tech Tactics in Education expects attendees, speakers, and staff to adhere to the following safety protocols:

  • You must stay home if you show any symptoms of illness, or you have tested positive for COVID-19 within 5 days of the event. Please contact the conference registrar at [email protected] or 714.439.9484 if you must cancel due to illness.
  • Everyone attending Tech Tactics in Education should take a COVID-19 home test with a negative test result before attending the event.
  • Mask wearing is optional at Tech Tactics in Education. Consider wearing a mask if you are at increased risk for severe illness, or live with or spend time with someone at higher risk.
  • Tech Tactics in Education will have disposable masks and hand sanitizer available throughout the event.
  • We encourage you to visit the CDC website for the latest COVID 19 guidance.
